Greek Chicken Burger Recipe Downshiftology

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup chopped kalamata olives
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • Tzatziki sauce (optional)
  • Sliced cucumber, tomato, and red onion (for toppings)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, red onion, garlic, spinach, olives, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Form the Patties: Form each of the 4 equal pieces of the mixture into a patty.
  3. Cook the Burgers: In a big skillet over medium heat, warm up the olive oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Toast the whole wheat buns if desired. Place the cooked chicken patties on the buns and top with sliced cucumber, tomato, and red onion. Add tzatziki sauce for extra flavor.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Greek chicken burgers warm with a side of salad or sweet potato fries.
